TPACK Model!

Hello again! I am back with the mindmap that I’ve created for the TPACK Model, by using Miro!

TPACK is another technological teaching framework which is an acronym for Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge and it was designed by Punya Mishra and Matthew Koehler. It was used to show the importance of what teachers know, how they teach and how technology is used for the lessons to be effective with the use of technology.

Technological Knowledge (TK): Teachers’ knowledge about the technology and tools, how to use them and combine it with the lesson through apps, websites and games.

Pedagogical Knowledge (PK): How the teacher uses the knowledge they have through practices and processes that are used in the lesson, including instructional strategies, teaching methods, assessments.

Content Knowledge (CK): Teacher’s own knowledge about the facts. concepts and theories for the subject matter.

Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK): How to choose technological and collaboration tools, depending on students’ age, level, background knowledge etc.

Technological Content Knowledge (TCK): How to teach the subject matter with the use of technology.

Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK): How to effectively engage in teaching and learning with using methods, approaches for subject matter.

This is all about TPACK for now! If you would like to learn more, you can click on the link below and see how TPACK is put into practice by two skilled teachers in an elementary school: https://youtu.be/_a90EvWfoLU

SAMR Model!

Hello everyone! Today's post will be about the one of the technological teaching models, SAMR Model! And i will show you the mindmap i have prepared by using Miro, which is an online whiteboard tool that you can develop your ideas and projects very easily.

SAMR is a technological teaching model that is created by Ruben Puentedura, for learners to enhance their current practice and improve their learning experience by evolving these difference types of practices with the use of technology through the levels of Substition, Augmentation, Modification and Redefinition.

Substitution: It is the level which the learner substitues the traditional material with a technological material. For example, writing notes on Ipad or a laptop, instead of a notebook.

Augmentation: The learner improves the task functionally by using technology. For instance, creating a mindmap online with the advantages of editing its colors and branches, zooming to view it much easier.

Modification: At this level, the task is redesigned by the technology used. For example, turning the mindmap into a collaborative material by working on it online at the same time, adding pictures, videos etc.

Redefinition: In this ultimate level, technology is the vital need for the tasks that the learners create. The task is completely different from its first version as it gives the learner the control of their own learning and ownership of their task. For instance, now the learners can make their task by vlogging, podcasting, telecollaboration, editing and also sharing these on their blogs. They can make unique works by combining them.

This is all about SAMR Model i can share. Also I am dropping the link of Ruben Puentedura's video in which he talks about how he developed the SAMR Model, how it works and how it is used in learning and teaching. You can check it out if you're interested: https://youtu.be/ZQTx2UQQvbU
